HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCHMEEVE!

Yes, the man in question celebrated the big 18 on the 21st of December. Wish him a happy birthday everyone. My apologies for taking so long to put up a post in your honour, but the small fact that I was in the middle of nowhere, and with limited internet connectivity, conspired to ensure i would not post. Yes, this man is my mate. The good times we had together are constantly on my mind. The things we said about Hounddog's mom. Oh, we had fun. Schmeeve is just such a likeable dude. It is almost impossible not to like the baig hairy mofo. In the words of Dupree (from the movie You, Me, and Dupree), it is his Schmeeveness that makes him so attractive. His mojo is irresistible. Alas, time does not go by so slowly as the favourite song of ours goes. The year has flown past, and I'm stuck remembering all the fun things we did together. Schmeeve, keep going strong and walking tall. Happy birthday man.

Well it has been awhile for Schmeeve but, now that GBM is here we will tear up the blogging world. Anyway lets get to what everyone wants, GRIND MY GEARS. Hello all you lazy schmucks who never comment or anything. Even John hasn't decided to join yet. C'mon John, grab your panties and get blogging, son. This is officially the first "Rock Your Socks Off" post (it will remain "rock your socks off" despite unwanted and unneeded comments suggesting the name be changed). This post is dedicated to Hound Dog. Man, I wish i could kick his butt. Anyway, here it goes.

Willie Nelson, "When You Were Here" (I think that's the name, not sure)

First off, never buy this cd. Never look at it, and most of all never listen to it. The whingeing tone and lazy beats put me to sleep before the first track was ten seconds old. I never would have purchased it myself, but good old Hound Dog decided I needed some positive mental input. Big mistake bro. But it's the thought that counts. I dunno know about you folks, but to me, an old man with long grey braids moaning about his girlfriend leaving him, his car dying on him, his dog biting him, and his toilet getting plugged on him has absolutely no appeal. It only reinforces my prejudice that all country singers whine. Bottom line is folks, this cd sucks. And for those of you who go to Plymouth, give Hound Dog a resound kick on the backside.

My First Ever Post: A Declaration of Intentions

Yes, I, Gordon Bayley Miskin, have officially taken up blogging. My first thought is to dedicate this blog, first of all, to my mates Schmeeve, John and Pete Sikma, and the unforgettable Brent. You guys will always be my brothers no matter what part of the world we reside in. Peace bro(s).

Ok, now that the sappy stuff is over, I will declare my intentions. I am here for a purpose. I am not going to tell you guys how my day went, or philosophize on the greatness of me. Most bloggers these days think we all want to know about their lives. Big mistake. I will mention my life occasionally, and that only in passing. I think I will start up something similar to Schmeeve's now legendary "Grind My Gears." It will be christened "Rock My Socks Off." Yes, as the name implies, i will rate cd's and report on them (every now and then). At the end of each critique, the record will be give a "Rock Your Socks Off (abbreviated to RYSO)" rating, with one being the lowest, and five the highest. Anyone reckless enough to disagree with me can email me, and then expect a scathing reply in their inbox within a few months. Bottom line, DON'T DISAGREE!!

All right, as a closer, I will staunchly refuse to continue this blogging business if no comments are received. It's very simple folks, no comments, no posts. Thanks for your time, expect a Rock My Socks Off post pretty soon.
